When I was a young kid, I was a sucker for epic stories. Through cinema or video games there was always one individual that would change the course of the future and save the world. I remember quite vividly how that resonated with me as a young kid looking to prove himself, however, there was only one problem.
I was probably one of the most shy kids out there so I rarely put myself into the stories, thinking I would make the mistakes that caused the world to go under.
I know right, kids got wild imaginations and I was no different, and it wasn’t until I started working in 2019 that I realized that I knew more than I gave myself credit for.
Over the course of those 5 years I would realize, time and time again, that I was more capable than I could ever imagine and it reminds me of a quote from a very known story. However, slightly altered.
The Hero existed, but he was buried deep within
In recent years, I would make myself the hero of the story and quite frankly,
I think we all should.
Of course, it is up to ourselves to decide who we are in the story but what is most important is that we do what feels the most right for ourselves.
